Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Lower House Speaker Atef Tarawneh said Jordan has always been the closest to the Palestinian issue and his majesty the king has always spoken about the suffering of Palestinians at all international forums.

Tarawneh was speaking at the 6th international conference in support of the Palestinian people, convening in the Iranian capital Tehran with the participation of 70 countries, in the presence of speaker of the Iranian Shura Council Ali Larijani.

Tarawneh said the implementation of international resolutions and the recognition of the right of the Palestinians to establish their state with East Jerusalem as its capital, is the only means to end the Arab-Israeli conflict.

He also stressed that acknowledging the Hashemite custodianship of holy sites in Jerusalem is an international endorsement of the Hashemite historic duty to preserve those holy sites.
