Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - The U.S. Embassy in Amman, Tuesday, said that a report being circulated about "visa-free travel" for certain Arab nationals is false.

It said in a statement that "no new executive order on visas or immigration has been issued since Jan 27th", adding that the embassy continues to welcome visa applications from Jordanians and others interested in travel to the United States.

A federal district court in Washington State issued an order on February 3, 2017, barring the U.S. government from enforcing certain provisions of Executive Order 13769, including those related to visas and travel.

Consequently, the State Department reversed the provisional revocation of visas under Executive Order 13769 to comply with the court order. Individuals with visas that were not physically cancelled may currently travel, if the visa is otherwise valid.

The statement added that embassies and consulates have resumed regular processing of visas for nationals of the seven countries subject to Executive Order 13769. Applicants should contact their nearest U.S. Embassy or Consulate for information about scheduling an interview.
