Sgt. Mohammad Salameh Saqarat, from the Anti-Narcotics Department, was shot dead by the fugitive, who opened fire at the police force, which came to arrest him in his hiding in a public park. The police said the fugitive fled the scene and remains at large for now, adding that a search operation was launched to find the man.

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - A police officer was killed Monday during an operation to arrest a high-profile wanted man in Zarqa, some 25km east of Amman, a Public Security Department (PSD) said.

Sgt. Mohammad Salameh Saqarat, from the Anti-Narcotics Department, was shot dead by the fugitive, who opened fire at the police force, which came to arrest him in his hiding in a public park.

The police said the fugitive fled the scene and remains at large for now, adding that a search operation was launched to find the man.
