The two ministers also talked about areas of cooperation between the two countries and "the importance of boosting joint Arab action to realise the common Arab interest". They emphasised the deep Jordanian-Egyptian relations and expressed the two countries' willingness to continue coordination and consultation on the various regional issues. Aboul Gheit congratulated Safadi on his appointment as Minister of Foreign and Expatriates Affairs in a cabinet shakeup.

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Minister of Foreign and Expatriates Affairs, Ayman Al-Safadi, on Tuesday discussed over the telephone with his Egyptian counterpart Ahmed Aboul Gheit preparations for the upcoming Arab summit, which Jordan will host in late March.

The two ministers also talked about areas of cooperation between the two countries and "the importance of boosting joint Arab action to realise the common Arab interest".
