AMMONNEWS - A baby girl was born on board a flight to Bahrain yesterday.
Bahrain's Interior Ministry confirmed that a special visa was issued to a Jordanian woman who gave birth on a flight before it landed at Bahrain International Airport.
The mother-to-be was travelling from Abu Dhabi to Doha and then on to her country when her flight was diverted to Bahrain due to bad weather, said Nationality, Passport and Residence Affairs official Brigadier Abdulrahman Al Dossary.
In light of the mother’s situation, the passport department at the airport issued her a visa on arrival and referred her and the baby girl to King Hamad University Hospital for treatment and follow-up.
Well-placed sources confirmed to the GDN that both mother and baby were healthy.
