Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Prime Minister Hani Mulqi called on Integrity and Anti-Corruption Commission (JIACC) to start as of next year activating legal texts related to establishing national integrity's principles as referred in its new law and ensuring government bodies' compliance with these standards.

Mulqi asked the Commission to start with the prime ministry and its directorates to check integrity, transparency, services quality, good governance standards, principles of justice, equality and equal opportunities, the rule of law and the fight against nepotism and favoritism.

The premier made the remarks as he attended a ceremony organized by the JIACC on the occasion of International Anti-Corruption Day dubbed "Integrity is a Collective Responsibility". During the ceremony, the premier announced the inauguration of the National Integrity and Anti-Corruption Strategy 2017-2025.

Mulqi said that Jordan along with the international community is standing against corruption, regardless of its location.

''In this regard the public administration was rehabilitated and a Royal committee was set up to frame a National Integrity Charter followed by another Royal committee to evaluate the accomplishment, rehabilitate the anti-graft watchdog and issue its new law,'' Mulqi said. He stressed that His Majesty King Abdullah's sixth discussion paper, titled "Rule of Law and Civil State'' mirrors the political will's seriousness in the Kingdom to build a political and legal system of accountability. ''All the doors which lead to a misuse of our national recourses will be shut down and we will positively tap into our resources. We are going to take all the necessary actions which support law enforcement and achieve justice, equality and equal opportunities,'' said Mulqi.
