King meets with leader of Iraqi National Alliance

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - His Majesty King Abdullah II, on Wednesday, told leader of the Iraqi National Alliance, Ammar Al-Hakim, that the security, stability and prosperity of Iraq is a Jordanian interest and stressed the Kingdom's support to Iraq's efforts in fighting terrorist gangs.

This came during a meeting held today, during which the King and Al-Hakim discussed the latest developments in Iraq. Al-Hakim underlined the importance of a forthcoming Arab summit in supporting Iraq's stability and national reconciliation efforts.

He said Jordan and His Majesty King enjoy the respect of the various components of the Iraqi people, commending the Kingdom's support to his country. Al-Hakim also emphasized the importance of securing border crossings and the international highway linking the two countries as soon as possible in order to advance economic ties and press ahead with an oil pipeline project between Iraq's Basra and the Red Sea port city of Aqaba.
