National Coalition for Reform meets prime minister

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - The Parliamentary National Coalition for Reform on Thursday met with Prime Minister Hani Mulki and a number of ministers.

Head of the coalition Abdullah Akaileh highlighted the importance of continuing meetings between the government and parliamentary blocs to serve the country and its citizens.

Members of the bloc said the main concern at this stage is the economic situation, affirming the importance of not taking measures that would reflect negatively on citizens living conditions.

They also highlighted the importance of fighting all forms of corruption, terrorism and extremisms.

The prime minister said the government looks for real participatory approach with the parliament to address economic, political and social challenges facing the country.

He stressed that the policies and measures that will be taken by the government will not include raising the prices of bread and basic commodities.

On the gas agreement Mulki said it was signed with a US company, adding it will save the treasury $300 million.

The agreement, he added is similar to the one that was signed in 2015 with the Royal Dutch Shell that imports gas from any country and without conditions related to the rules of origin.
