Transport minister, Saudi counterpart discuss visa fees raise

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Minister of Transport, Hussein al-So'ub, on Tuesday, discussed with his Saudi counterpart, Suleiman al-Hamdan, the impacts of raising visa fees on Jordanian drivers, who transfer industrial and agricultural products to Saudi Arabia and the Gulf Cooperation Council's (GCC) countries.

On the sidelines of the Arab Transport Ministers Conference held in Cairo on October now 24-25, the two ministers discussed ways to boost ties between the two countries.

The Saudi Minister of Transport expressed his country's readiness to cooperate in order to reach a compromise that satisfies all parties, takes into account the interests of the two countries and supports both countries' economy.

Al-So'ub said that the visa issue will be followed up through diplomatic channels between the two countries.

Saudi Arabia has recently raised visa fees on Jordanian trucks heading to Saudi Arabia and GCC countries.
