PM receives annual human rights report

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Prime Minister, Hani Mulki,Tuesday, received National Centre for Human Rights (NCHR) President of the board of trustees, Mohammad Al Bakhit, who presented a copy of the annual report on human rights in Jordan for 2015.

The report encompassed prominent topics related to the reality of human rights in the Kingdom, besides government measures needed to implement recommendations.

"The government attaches particular significance to human rights and to build on what has been achieved in this regard ", said the premier.

Mulki said that since the formation of the government, he instructed ministries and relevant bodies to carry out directives of His Majesty King Abdullah, which were issued in 2013 on implementing the NCHR recommendations.

He also emphasized the government's support of the NCHR to enhance the reality of human rights in Jordan, pointing to the center's key role in providing opinion and advice.

Also in the report were important issues needed to be addressed, such as hate speech, terrorism and security.
