Border guards thwart major smuggling attempt

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Border Guards, Thursday, thwarted an attempt to smuggle in a large amount of narcotics from Syria, an official source at the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army said in a statement.

The troops engaged eight persons involved in the smuggling attempt and wounded three of them before they returned back to Syrian territories. A total of 332 palm-sized sheets of hashish (58 kilograms) and 384,000 narcotic pills (69 kilograms) were seized in the bust.
