King inspects workshops at Sharif Abdul Hamid Sharaf Secondary School

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - His Majesty King Abdullah on Wednesday paid a visit to Sharif Abdul Hamid Sharaf Secondary School for Boys to check on its facilities and the workshops of the school.

During a visit to the school in September 2013, the King instructed the Royal Hashemite Court to carry our maintenance work and renovate the school's workshops.

The Royal visit comes within His Majesty's interest to develop education and vocational training, especially that this school, which was established in established in 1924, is the oldest vocational school in the Kingdom.

Under Royal directives, vocational schools will be established in all governorates across the Kingdom, and will be provided with modern equipment designed for training just like Sharif Abdul Hamid Sharaf Secondary School. These schools will be centers for training students and providing them with necessary skills to enable them to enter the labour market.

The King highlighted the importance of maintaining coordination and enhancing partnership with the private sector to enable students to benefit from technological development in various professions, as well as practical training opportunities provided by private sector institutions.

During the visit, King Abdullah was briefed by Deputy Prime Minister for Services Affairs and Minister of Education, Mohammad Thneibat, on stages of the renovation process that will reflect positively on the level of training provided to students.
