Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Minister of Planning and International Cooperation, Imad Fakhoury, said public expenditure in Balqa governorate amounted to about JD91 million this year, as part of the 2016 Balqa Governorate development program.

A government team, headed by Fakhoury, highlighted the 2016 Balqa governorate development program achievements, as part of the team's field visits to governorates to showcase the 2016-2018 program achievements.

Fakhoury said new priorities will be set, through a governorate local team, to allocate the remaining funds for infrastructure projects in 2017-2018, as per a cabinet decision in this regard at the value of JD150 million for 2017 and JD200 million for 2018.

The minister highlighted the government's achievements through the Balqa governorate development program, as the ministry, in coordination with various partners and through available financing instruments, has provided the necessary funding for setting up developmental priorities and needs included in the 2016 Balqa Governorate development program.

With regard to the general budget, the Ministry has sent governorates’ programs at ministries and government institutions to be adopted as a reference to government's efforts in governorates when preparing their budgets, including the Balqa governorate, where a JD78 million worth of government projects are expected to be implemented in the Balqa governorate in 2016.
