Mulqi says : Jordan moving forward with implementing decentralization

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - The government is pushing ahead in taking necessary measures to implement decentralization in conformity with the Royal directives, Prime Minister Hani Mulqi said Wednesday .

The Premier made his remarks as he paid a visit to the Interior Ministry, where he stressed the importance of sustaining development process pursued by the ministry to improve every aspect of its security, administrative and technical work.

"Jordan, under the leadership of his Majesty King Abdullah II, will continue carrying out comprehensive reforms in all fields", said Mulqi, adding that " such reforms require all state institutions to take part in this national effort with utmost efficiency and readiness." Speaking on national unity, the prime minister said a "coherent internal front" is capable of preserving national interests and that the national unity is a basic foundation of the Jordanian society.

In turn, Minister of Interior, Salameh Hammad, said the concept of comprehensive security in all its aspects, is the governors' key tasks through reaching out to citizens' views and observations and finding solutions to their problems.

On the upcoming parliamentary elections, Hammad said his ministry has drawn up a security plan to ensure the security and proper functioning of the electoral process.

" Challenges and conditions in the region prompted a variety of security, political and economic measures from the Kingdom to prevent negative implications of these challenges on daily life of Jordanians", the minister explained, noting that such response created heavy burdens on national systems.

Hammad also briefed the premier on a set of plans, programs and strategies implemented by the ministry in cooperation with the relevant bodies, to consolidate the security and stability of the Kingdom.
