Mulki : Addressing poverty, unemployment, creating jobs top Gov't priorities

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - The Higher Committee for the National Employment Strategy, on Tuesday, discussed measures taken by the to reduce unemployment rates and provide job opportunities for Jordanians.

Chairing a committee meeting held in the Ministry of Labor, Prime Minister Hani al-Mulki and Chairman said the government's basic priorities are addressing poverty and creating job opportunities for Jordanians to resolve the unemployment problem, in accordance with new mechanisms for financing small projects in governorates and remote areas.

He called for a practical and thoughtful transition to replace foreign workforce with Jordanians in a manner that doesn't affect the private sector, noting that Jordanian workers are the best to the economic cycle in terms of production and consumption.

Minister of Labor, Ali Ghazawi, briefed the Committee on eight measures that have been taken to stimulate the labor market.
