King: Jordan will respond with iron fist against anyone who tries to tamper with its security

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - His Majesty King Abdullah II, the Supreme Commander of the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army on Tuesday said that "Jordan will respond with an iron fist against anyone who tries to tamper with its security and borders".

The King made the remarks as he visited the General Headquarters of the Jordan Armed Forces, where he chaired a meeting that was attended by top civil, military and security officials.

His Majesty was briefed on the cowardly terrorist attack on the north eastern border that targeted a forward military post dedicated for serving and helping Syrian refugees at the area.

He voiced pride in heroism and sacrifices of members of the Armed forces and security agencies, who dedicate their lives to protecting the homeland.

The King said that the unity of all Jordanians will enable them to counter all cowardly attempt that target Jordan's security and stability.

His Majesty expressed his condolences over the death of a number of army and security personnel, indicating that "such criminal acts will only increase out determination to confront terrorism and terror gangs that target army personnel who protect the security of the country and its borders.

His Majesty's Advisor for Military Affairs and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Mashaal Mohammad Zaben presented a detailed briefing on the terrorist attack and mechanism of dealing with it.

The King said that Jordan will continue its role in fighting criminal gangs and their dark ideology, and defend the true image of Islam.

The meeting was attended by HRH Prince Faisal Bin Al Hussein, the Royal Court chief, the deputy prime minister and minister of foreign and expatriate affairs, the King's advisor for national security affairs and the director of the Intelligence Department, the King's advisor for tribal affairs, the King's advisor and rapporteurs of the National Policies Council, the ministers of interior and media affairs and the directors of the gendarmerie and public security departments.
