King visits the General Intelligence Directorate

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS -His Majesty King Abdullah II, the Supreme Commander of the Jordan Armed Forces, stressed his pride in the courage of members of the armed forces and security agencies, and said they are the "safety valve" that leads efforts to safeguard national security and defend the homeland.

The King made the remarks as he visited the General Intelligence Department (JID) where he met with its chief, General Faisal Al Shoubaki to offer his condolences over the martyrdom of five GID personnel yesterday.

His Majesty said that Jordan is stable and secure thanks to efforts of members of the Jordan Armed Forces and security agencies.

He also commended the speedy arrest of the perpetrator of the cowardly terrorist attack on the Baqaa office of the General Intelligence Department, which he said "targeted people who are dear to us".

King Abdullah, who was briefed by General Al Shoubaki on mechanism of dealing with the terror act, and arresting the perpetrator, stressed that Jordan will deal firmly with anyone who tampers with its security.

His Majesty also highlighted the importance of national unity to counter any schemes that target the Kingdom's stability and unity.

He also voiced appreciation of the advanced level of the armed forces and security agencies, and hailed their role in defending Jordan's security and stability.
