3787 Jordanian women divorced thier husbands ,the Amman's women are the highest

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - 3787 Jordanian women divorced their husbands by khul' in the last five years after the amendment law of Personal Status in 2011 according to the statistics of Supreme Judge Department.

The last yeas recorded a significant increase of the numbers of the cases , the number of Jordanian women who brought to trial by khul' against their husbands is 589 after the number arrived at 392 in 2014.

The statistics showed that the women of Amman are the highest of khul' cases , in contrast of the women of the other counties , this shows the strength of character of Amman's women to decide their marital lives , in addition to having money that enables them to decide khul' without hesitation , after their financial rights got back to the husbands that husbands payed when they married.

** khul' means : is the right of a woman to seek a divorce from her husband in Islam for compensation (usually monetary) paid back to the husband from the wife.Based on traditional fiqh and referenced in the Quran and hadith, khula allows a woman to initiate a divorce through the mutual consent of the husband or a judicial decree. Khula = Divorce at Instance of Wife Who Pays Compensation.
