Two Air France flights diverted after bomb threats

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Two Air France flights headed from the United States to Paris were diverted because of bomb threats, US media reports said Wednesday .

The CNN News reported that according to the Federal Aviation Administration, Air France Flight 65 en route from Los Angeles to Paris, was diverted to Salt Lake City after a bomb threat was called in from the ground.

Officers searched the plane that landed in Salt Lake City and rendered it safe, it added.

Shortly afterward, another France flight from Washington to Paris was also diverted to an airport in Halifax, Nova Scotia also because of a bomb threat, the CBC news added.

Air France said both flights were ordered grounded after takeoff based on the anonymous phone threats. The planes landed safely, the airline said in a statement.

Passengers were evacuated and the airliners and luggage were being searched, Air France added.
