Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - His Majesty King Abdullah II, in the presence of Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah, on Wednesday, chaired a meeting to discuss matters relating to the educational process in Jordan and ways to develop it.

During the meeting, which was attended by Prime Minister Abdullah Ensour, King Abdullah was briefed by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education, Mohammad Thunaibat, on the progress of the educational process and the ministry's plans to develop it, especially regarding the development of the General Secondary Education Certificate Examination (Tawjihi).

His Majesty the King stressed the need to exert and intensify all efforts to find ways to enhance elements of the educational process, curricula, students and workers in the educational field, which will be reflected positively on its output, complied with the outlook for education and provide the market with talented workforce.

The King instructed the ministry to merge schools with fewer students, to ensure raising education's efficiency and performance of educational field employees, thereby enhancing the educational process as a whole.

He also gave instructions to step up coordination between the ministry of education's schools and military schools, in the field of integrating schools in remote areas and provide transportation for students there.

King Abdullah stressed the need for encouraging students to move toward vocational education, and train, prepare and enhance teachers' abilities and raise their competencies, in collaboration with national institutions, and continue to develop curricula, to ensure the quality of education outcomes, and the use of international expertise to help build analytical thinking among students, and take advantage of modern technology in this important area.

He called on expanding vocational education sectors, especially the industrial and agricultural streams, and benefiting from the professional and technical capacity of the Vocational Training Corporation and universities.

Thunaibat gave a briefing on the outcome of the Education National Conference, which aimed to boost confidence in the Jordanian education and the education sector, which enjoys the attention and continued support of their Majesties.
