Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - HRH Princess Sarvath has received an honorary degree of doctor of education from the University of Bath in recognition of “her achievements as a longstanding and influential supporter of inspiring young people”, according to a statement released Wednesday.

At the University Summer Awards ceremony on Tuesday, held in Bath, England, Professor Colin Grant, the pro-vice-chancellor (Internationalisation), said Princess Sarvath “represents a pioneering force in education, the influence of which has transformed the opportunities available for young people within Jordan and throughout the region”.

“Her Highness has championed the notion that excellence in education is a right to be enjoyed by all, and not merely the privileged few,” Grant added, according to the university’s website.

The University of Bath received its Royal Charter in 1966 and is now “firmly established” as a top university worldwide with an international reputation for research and teaching excellence, the statement said.

In her acceptance speech, Princess Sarvath said: “I encourage all of the young graduates passing out from this great university today to approach your futures, and I quote, not by looking at things the way they are and asking why, but by dreaming of things that never were and asking why not?”
