Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - The Jordanian Football Association says it has contracted Paul Put for one year to coach its national team.

Salah Sabra, the vice president of the Jordanian FA, told The Associated Press on Tuesday that Put would start in July.

Put was banned in Belgium for three years, until 2011, after the club he coached, Lierse, was implicated in fixing games in the Belgian league of 2004-05.

Put, who later coached Burkina Faso, has been adamant he was a scapegoat. He hasn’t denied fixing took place at Lierse, but has said he wasn’t in control of it.
