King back home after Europe trip

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - His Majesty King Abdullah II returned home Thursday after a working visit that took him to Albania and Germany.

While in Germany, the King attended the International Charlemagne Prize ceremony to honor EU Parliament President Martin Schulz. During the ceremony, King Abdullah delivered a speech, where he voiced his appreciation for the tenure of Schulz as EU parliament president.

In Berlin, the Monarch met with the German President Joachim Gauck, German Chancellor Angela Merkel and the German Minister of Defense for talks on bilateral ties and ways to bolster them in various domains.

The King also met with intellectuals and academicians and reviewed with them the latest developments in the Middle East and Jordan's position towards these developments.

In Albania, on the first leg of the Royal tour, the King met with President of Albania Bujar Nishani and Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama and held talks on bilateral ties and ways to cement them as well as developments in the Middle East.
