On the sidelines of the 10th Islamic Inter-Parliamentary Union summit in Turkey, Ali Larijani met with his Jordanian counterpart, Atef Tarawneh, yesterday. Larijani said Iran is willing to expand its political and parliamentary relations with Jordan and expressed hope that political negotiations would lead to development of Iran-Jordan ties. He also emphasized on the critical geopolitical position of Jordan and asserted that considering the regional crisis, Jordan has to play its prominent role in the region. Jordanian official, for his part, expressed pleasure over his meeting with Larijani and delivered the greeting of King of Jordan to him and all Iranian officials and nation. Jordanian parliament speaker added that Iran-Jordan ties needed to be expanded and that the two countries needed to set the ground for cultural and political cooperation. Tarawneh, meanwhile called for unity in Islamic world to counter terrorism and establish unity. *MNA

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - ranian speaker of Parliament, emphasizing the geopolitical position of Jordan, said Jordan should play its constructive role in establishing stability and peace in the region.

On the sidelines of the 10th Islamic Inter-Parliamentary Union summit in Turkey, Ali Larijani met with his Jordanian counterpart, Atef Tarawneh, yesterday.

Larijani said Iran is willing to expand its political and parliamentary relations with Jordan and expressed hope that political negotiations would lead to development of Iran-Jordan ties.

He also emphasized on the critical geopolitical position of Jordan and asserted that considering the regional crisis, Jordan has to play its prominent role in the region.
