King meets with former prime ministers

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - His Majesty King Abdullah II, on Sunday, met with former prime ministers for a discussion on the latest regional and international developments as well as local issues.

During the meeting, held at Al Husseiniya Palace, the King spoke about Jordan's efforts within the international coalition to counter terrorism as well as terrorist organizations, noting that Arab and Islamic countries should take a holistic approach to fight terrorism.

Jordan the King added, is capable of addressing regional challenges by its Arab army and security agencies.

On the situation in Syria and Iraq , King Abdullah said that Jordan backs a political solution to the crisis in Syria and supports efforts to achieve security and stability in Iraq.

His Majesty also stressed the need to arrive at a just and comprehensive solution to the Palestinian issue and urged the Palestinians and Israelis to work to end the conflict.

On the domestic scene, he said improving economic conditions of citizens and addressing the problems of poverty and unemployment top his priorities.

The former prime ministers praised the King's efforts to deal with various challenges facing the Kingdom, mainly terrorism.
