Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Officials say a commercial jet waiting on the tarmac at New York City’s Kennedy Airport was bumped from behind by another airplane.

They say the mishap, just after 7 p.m. Sunday, involved a Royal Jordanian flight from Amman, Jordan, with 159 passengers and a Chautauqua Airlines flight from Charleston, South Carolina, operating under the Delta name.

Port Authority officials say the Delta flight was on its way to Quebec with 44 passengers on board.

The Royal Jordanian flight was heading to Amman, Jordan with 159 passengers.

No injuries were reported or medical transports.

A spokesman for Republic Airways, owner of Chautauqua Airlines, says the jet was parked and waiting to approach the gate when the nose of the other aircraft hit the plane’s tail.

He says the Chautauqua aircraft taxied to the gate under its own power and all 50 passengers and three crew members departed normally. Maintenance crews were reviewing the damage.
