Interior minister, US ambassador discuss ties, region

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Interior Minister Hussein Majali discussed with the US Ambassador to Jordan Alice Wells, means to boost Jordanian-US ties in the security, economic and political fields as well as developments in the region, mainly the Syrian crisis and its repercussions.

Majali praised the strong ties between Jordan and the United States and stressed the need to further enhance them in the interest of both the countries.

Talks during the meeting also dealt with the influx of Syrian refugees into Jordan and its impact on the economic and security situation in the Kingdom.

Majali urged the international community to increase its support to Jordan to enable it to address the repercussions of the Syrian crisis and continue to provide health, educational and security services to the refugees.

The ambassador praised Jordan's role in alleviating the sufferings of the Syrian refugees despite the economic, social and humanitarian problems facing the Kingdom.
