King, Lebanese prime minister discuss ties, Mideast developments

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - His Majesty King Abdullah II, on Tuesday, discussed with Lebanese Prime Minister, Tammam Salam, the latest developments in the Middle East, and relations between the two countries and ways of cementing them.

This came during a telephone call the King received from the Lebanese prime minister. They also tackled the overall challenges facing the region and efforts to address them, especially in light of mounting violence, intolerance, extremism and terrorism.

The Lebanese prime minister hailed Jordan's efforts in promoting dialogue and tolerance between religions and renouncing violence and extremism, by hosting conferences and sponsoring interfaith dialogue initiatives.

Tamam also briefed the King on the latest security developments in Lebanon. His Majesty the King expressed Jordan's support to Lebanon in countering various challenges.

They stressed the need to strengthen ties and cooperation between the two countries and to serve their common interests.
