King performs Friday prayers at Ajloun Gand Mosque

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - His Majesty King Abdullah II and His Royal Highness Crown Prince Hussein joined worshippers in performing the Friday prayers at the Ajloun Grand Mosque, one of the oldest mosques in the Kingdom.

The King and worshippers listened to the Friday sermon delivered by Chief Justice Ahmad Hilayel which focused on tranquility that was brought by Islam to mankind.

Hilayel praised His Majesty’s continued efforts and directives to renovate mosques in various governorates across the Kingdom.

Upon arrival at the mosque, the King was briefed by Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Hayel Abdul Hafeez Daoud on the importance of the Ajloun Grand Mosque which was built by the last Ayyubid Sultan Najmuddin Ayyub in 1247.

During a surprise visit to the mosque last year, the King called for following up on the expansion and renovation at the mosque and sought the completion of all works without any delays.
