Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - U.S. Ambassador to Jordan, Stuart E. Jones, on Wednesday, commended hospitality the Kingdom has shown to Syrian refugees despite massive burdens placed on an already-strained economy.

The ambassador, who is wrapping up a three-year tenure in Jordan, told reporters that the international community has a big responsibility towards Jordan, noting that the U.S. is the only country that offers the Kingdom direct cash assistance to help it grapples with the refugees crisis.

Despite the major pressure the Kingdom has been going through and disruption of Egyptian gas supplies, it posted a growth of 3.2 percent in the first quarter of the current year, the envoy noted.
