Two football clubs penalized for pitch riot

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - The Jordan Football Association (JFA) on Sunday ordered fines and also imposed other penalties against the Al Wehdat and Faisili clubs and individuals who were behind a riot that followed a first division match on Friday.

The match at the King Abdullah Sports City, which ended in a 2-0 win by Al Wehdat, witnessed disturbances during which fans tossed bottles onto the pitch, threw chairs and screamed insults against players.

The JFA Disciplinary Committee announced cash fines for damage wreaked by fans of both clubs as well as suspensions and other disciplinary action against players and club management members.

The measures, which were subject to appeal, were announced after the panel examined reports by the referees, match observers and the sports city's management.
