Malala meets Syria war refugees at Jordan border

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Pakistani teenage activist, Malala Yousufzai, and her father, Ziauddin Yousafzai, visited Jordanian-Syrian border and met hundreds of Syrian war refugees, SAMAA reported.

The visit was organized by the Malala Fund, providing an opportunity to the education crusader to help war refugee children get education.

Many tears were shed and emotional scenes were witnessed when the team arrived to meeting the refugees who were making the long trek on foot across the Jordanian-Syrian border to safety in Jordon.

Over half a million refugees, including women and children, are languishing in the camps at the border.

Malala and her father helped several of the refugees from the no-man’s land that separates the two nations to sanctuary in Jordan.

Officials of the Malala Fund said they have teamed up with local Jordanian and Syrian grassroots organizations and NGOs to help ensure Syrian children get the education and opportunities they deserve.
