Ammon News - AMMAN (Petra) His Majesty King Abdullah II on Tuesday congratulated Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, who took power after his father abdicated.

In his cable, the King reiterated Jordan's readiness to enhance and cement bilateral cooperation, strengthen the historical bonds between the two countries and their peoples, achieve common interests, and strengthen joint Arab cooperation and solidarity.

King Abdullah also stressed the Kingdom's keenness to continue coordination and consultation on various Arab and regional issues to enhance the ability of the two countries to address challenges facing the Arab nation.

The King also on Tuesday called the Emir of Qatar His Highness Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani and congratulated him on assuming power in Qatar.

His Majesty also wished Sheikh Tamim success in leading the Qatari people towards greater modernization, progress and development.

His Highness Crown Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II, on Tuesday also sent a cable to His Highness Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani on assuming power in Qatar.

King Abdullah and Prince Hussein wished Sheikh Tamim continued good health and happiness and the people of Qatar further progress and prosperity.
