US Embassy Hosts Randa Kuziez to Discuss Youth Activism and Religious Pluralism

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS – The U.S. Embassy in Amman is currently hosting Randa Kuziez, who is on a visit to the region to discuss religious pluralism and empowering women and youth. Kuziez is a former Fellow with the Tony Blair Faith Foundation, where she led efforts to empower young people through interfaith service to eliminate global poverty. Her visit is in line with U.S. President Barack Obama’s vision for expanded engagement between the United States and the Muslim world.
While in Jordan, Kuziez will be visiting Amman, Karak, Ma’an and Mafraq to lead workshops on community activism, youth empowerment and interfaith activities. She will also discuss her experiences as a Muslim woman living in the United States. Kuziez speaks fluent Arabic.
Kuziez has served as the Vice President and Treasurer of the Muslim Students’ Association of the United States and Canada and is also the co-founder of Maded, an organization dedicated to providing resources to those who have been in serious physical accidents. She has been the Director of Education at Interfaith Partnership/Faith Beyond Walls of Saint Louis, and a medical and legal interpreter for Arabic-speaking refugees.
A 2007 graduate of Saint Louis University, Kuziez earned degrees in History and International Affairs and was named the university’s Woman of the Year. She is currently a Master’s candidate in the International Affairs Program at Washington University in Saint Louis. Kuziez has a black belt in Tae Kwon Do and trains young students in the sport.
