King meets Netanyahu in Washington

Ammon News - WASHINGTON His Majesty King Abdullah II met in Washington on Wednesday with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and discussed direct Palestinian-Israeli talks, which will kick off on Thursday.

The King underscored the need to take needed steps to guarantee serious talks that address the final status issues to achieve peace and establish the independent Palestinian state on the national soil, living side by side with Israel in peace and security according to related terms of reference.

King Abdullah told Netanyahu that the two-state formula, within a broader regional context is the only way to achieving security and stability in the region.

The meeting was attended by Royal Court Chief Nasser Lozi, King's Advisor Ayman Safadi and Foreign Minister Nasser Judeh as well as Netanyahu's accompanying delegation.
