Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - 76.96 percent of intermediate College students who sat for the Shamel (Comprehensive) exam during the summer session this academic year passed the exam, President of Balqaa Applied University (BAU) Dr. Omar Rimawi announced on Tuesday.
Rimawi added that 5,515 regular students at community colleges (80.76 percent) passed the test out of a total of 6,829 regular students.
The Higher Education Council had approved amendments earlier this year to the "bridging system" whereby community college students will be able to bridge to continue their studies at universities if they receive at least 68 percent on the Shamel exam.
The amendment cancelled the Tawhiji (secondary school general exam) scores as a prerequisite for community college students to bridge to university programs of study.
