31 hospitalized for food poisoning south of Jordan

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Muhammad Khawaldeh - Over 30 students from Mu'tah University in Karak governorate, south of Jordan, were rushed to local hospitals Friday evening suffering from food poisoning symptoms.

Nearly 40 people in total were rushed to several local hospitals in Karak after eating spoiled meals prepared by a local restaurant, Karak officials said.

Health officials in Karak said that the patients are in stable condition after receiving medical treatment.

Meanwhile, authorities launched an investigation into the incident and temporarily closed the restaurant which is located near the university's main gate pending investigation.
