Ammon News - AMMONNEWS – (Exclusive) Turkish Ambassador in Amman Ali Koprulu said that Israel must apologize "soon" to his country for the crimes it committed in killing and injuring a number of Turkish nationals who where on board the "Freedom Flotilla" humanitarian aid convoy that was en route to the Gaza Strip last month.
Ambassador Koprulu said in statements to ‘Ammon News’ that Israel has violated several international laws and conventions at once during the attack on the Flotilla ships while they were in international waters, in addition to seizing the ships, killing and injuring a number of innocent un-armed civilians onboard and seizing and confiscating the contents of the ships.
The Ambassador expressed that "if Israel does not apologize for what it perpetrated and doesn't pay reparations to the families of those killed and injured, then Turkish-Israeli relations will not return to the way they were."
He noted that Israel recognized the extent to which its relations with Turkey are important, and therefore, his country will not resume normal relations with Israel as it did in the past if the latter does not abide by what is required from it in accordance with international law and international resolutions of the United Nations.
Ambassador Ali Koprulu explained that if Israel does not apologize for its crimes, "then the method of dealing with Israel will be different this time," he told 'Ammon News.'
