Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - The Ministry of Culture, Abdul Hamid Shoman Foundation, and Haya Cultural Center for Children signed an agreement Monday to launch the Children's Mobile Library to tour around various governorates in the Kingdom.
The Ministry, according to the agreement, provides JD 20,000 to Haya Cultural Center to equip and operate the special truck which will be in the form of a mobile children's library, and identify the stops that the mobile library will visit periodically every two months, Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Abdul Hamid Shoman Foundation will also provide JD 5,000 to operate the mobile library.
The mobile library will be equipped with educational toys, school supplies, and will hold workshops and plays suitable for children.
Minister of Culture Nabih Shuqum stressed the importance of the Mobile Library project in contributing to children's development and reinforce their knowledge in different fields; especially that the library will tour throughout rural areas that are distant from the capital and cities where libraries are located.
Director General of Abdul Hamid Shoman Foundation, Thabit Taher, said that the Mobile Library will provide further opportunities to children to make reading a constructive habit, and highlighted the cooperation between the Ministry of Culture and the Foundation in the "Family Library" project, which is considered one of the most important cultural projects in the Kingdom, and aims to provide books at suitable prices to society.
The agreement was signed by the Minister of Culture, Director General of Abdul Hamid Shoman Foundation, and Chairman of Haya Cultural Center, Janet Mufti, in the presence of Secretary General of the ministry, Jyris Samawi and Director of Child Culture, Mikhlid Barakat, Petra reported.
