Home Jordan News Royal Decree appoints Sheikh Khasawneh Kingdom's Grand Mufti 01-03-2010 08:30 AM Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - A Royal Decree was issued Tuesday appointing Sheikh Abdul Karim Saleem Khasawneh as the Kingdom's Grand Mufti at the rank, salary and jurisdictions of a minister as of February 23rd, 2010. A Royal Decree also approved the resignation of Sheikh Nuh Ali Salman Al Qudah from his position as Kingdom's Mufti as of February 23, 2010. Sheikh Khasawneh is a retired Major General of the Armed Forces where he had held the position of Mufti of the Armed Forces. He is also member of the Jordanian Ifta' Council (department that issues religious edicts) and member of the Board of Trustees of the International Islamic University in Jordan.

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - A Royal Decree was issued Tuesday appointing Sheikh Abdul Karim Saleem Khasawneh as the Kingdom's Grand Mufti at the rank, salary and jurisdictions of a minister as of February 23rd, 2010.

A Royal Decree also approved the resignation of Sheikh Nuh Ali Salman Al Qudah from his position as Kingdom's Mufti as of February 23, 2010.

Sheikh Khasawneh is a retired Major General of the Armed Forces where he had held the position of Mufti of the Armed Forces. He is also member of the Jordanian Ifta' Council (department that issues religious edicts) and member of the Board of Trustees of the International Islamic University in Jordan.
