149 COVID-19 cases recorded Tuesday, tests cross one-million mark

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - A total of 149 new infections with the novel coronavirus were recorded on Tuesday across the Kingdom, bringing the tally to 3,677 since the outbreak of the pandemic in early March.

Out of today’s total, 142 were local infections with the capital Amman accounting for the majority of cases at 87 cases, according to a joint prime ministry and ministry of health daily update.

An additional 30 cases were recorded in Balqa, 18 in Karak, 3 in Jerash and Irbid each and one infection in Madaba, the statement revealed.

As for imported infections, they stood at even, including 5 Jordanian truck drivers diagnosed on the Omari border crossing with Saudi Arabia.

The remaining two cases were for two Jordanians who have recently come from abroad and remained in quarantine before their diagnosis is confirmed.

On a more positive note, 56 patients have recovered and were discharged from hospitals today. With regard to testing, the statement indicated that 14,744 tests were conducted on Tuesday, pushing the total above the one-million mark at 1,004,323.
