Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Foreign Minister, Ayman Safadi, and China's State Councilor and Foreign Minister, Wang Yi, on Monday, chaired the ninth session of the Ministerial Meeting of the China-Arab States Cooperation Forum (CASCF) via video conference.

Safadi said, "The convening of the forum is a clear indication of the commitment of our Arab countries and China to continue our cooperation based on mutual respect and complementarity of interests."

"We need international cooperation to confront the pandemic. We also need international cooperation to meet the rights of our people in education, work, health services, achievement and development."

The minister stressed that Jordan and Arab countries see China as a major partner in this effort. He added, "We value China's stances in support of the Palestinian right to freedom and the state. We trust that it is within an international stance rejecting the annexation of occupied Palestinian lands by Israel in violation of international law and undermining all opportunities to achieve a just and comprehensive peace."

Al-Safadi added, "We look forward to working with China and with the entire international community to find a real horizon to achieve a just peace that is acceptable to the peoples, which won't be achieved as long as the occupation remains, and unless a free and independent Palestinian state with the occupied Jerusalem as its capital, is established on the lines of June 4, 1967, according to the two states solution."

The meeting adopted the executive cooperation program for 2020 - 2022, and the joint statement of the solidarity of China and the Arab countries in "combating the epidemic of pneumonia caused by the novel coronavirus," in addition to the Amman Declaration, which confirmed China and Arab countries' rejection of Israeli annexation plans and support the positions of His Majesty King Abdullah II to protect holy sites and managing Islamic endowments in Jerusalem.

The Amman Declaration also confirmed the rejection and invalidation of Israeli practices and policies aimed at changing the legal and historical status of East Jerusalem, calling on the international community to secure sustainable financial resources for the UNRWA budget.
