Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Ayman Safadi, discussed in a phone call Thursday with Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Dundas, coordination and cooperation in facing the Covid-19 pandemic.

In the call, the two FMs stressed solidarity in addressing the Covid-19 crisis's economic and social consequences, and the two countries' keenness to develop relations and increase bilateral cooperation in the framework of the tripartite working mechanism, with Cyprus and in the context of the partnership between the Kingdom and the European Union.

The duo reviewed the regional developments and the efforts made to overcome the region's crises.
On the Palestinian issue and the peace process, the two ministers stressed that there is no alternative to a two-state solution based on international legitimacy resolutions as a way to achieve peace and resolve the conflict.

Safadi appreciated Greece's position in support of the two-state solution that adheres to the European position rejecting the annexation of any Palestinian lands, which is a violation of international law.

Annexing the Jordan Valley, northern Dead Sea, and settlements in the occupied Palestinian territories would kill the two-state solution and undermine all opportunities for achieving a comprehensive and lasting peace, Safadi pointed out.

The two ministers stressed the need to intensify efforts to find a political solution to the Syrian crisis and stressed the importance of continued international support for refugees and their host countries.
The two ministers also stressed the continued coordination and cooperation and work to develop relations in all fields.
