Amman, Istanbul commerce chambers explore 'new phase' of cooperation

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - The Amman and Istanbul chambers of commerce agreed on establishing a new phase of comprehensive cooperation to bolster bilateral ties and support economic and trade exchange.
During a visit of the Amman Chamber of Commerce (ACC) Board of Directors to Istanbul, the two sides agreed on several memorandum of understandings (MoUs) to enhance bilateral collaboration, including holding a "Jordan week" in Turkey next year to promote local investments, increasing economic delegations visits, establishing an electronic information exchange platform, as well as cooperating in the fields of entrepreneurship, training, Arabic teaching and obtaining university scholarships.
Talks during the meetings tackled activating the terms of an MoU, inked last July, on the exchange of information, expertise and training of employees. The Board of Directors also urged the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce, which is the world's second largest chamber of commerce, to increase investments in Jordan, especially in the service sectors, to take advantage of the available e-commerce means to serve the economy of the two countries. and to follow up on the Turkish government to facilitate the development of direct shipping lines.
A statement by the ACC on Tuesday said both chambers shall continue to demand the signing of a new Jordanian-Turkish free trade agreement that will serve the two countries in various commercial, industrial and service sectors.
