King closely follows up on Al-Husseini Mosque blaze, directs restoration

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - His Majesty King Abdullah II, Wednesday evening, closely followed up on fire erupted in the historical Al-Husseini Mosque in downtown Amman, and immediately directed the Royal Court Chief to restore the shrine, maintain its Islamic, historical and architectural designs.

The King has also ordered to provide the mosque with all it needs including furniture, equipment and carpets.

His Majesty directed competent authorities to adopt a public safety plan that includes installing fire alarm systems as well as continued maintenance to historical mosques in the Kingdom.

Also known as the "Grand Husseini Mosque", Al-Husseini Mosque is one of the oldest Muslim shrines located in downtown Amman that was built in 1924.
