Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - First Deputy Speaker of the Lower House of Parliament, Nassar Qaisi, expressed his rejection of any solution at the expense of Jordan and Palestine in favor of Israel, especially in light of what the Palestinian issue is witnessing.

"We will not accept snubbing the right of the Palestinian people to return to their land and compensation," he added in a speech during his participation on Monday in the Annual Diaspora Forum held by the Parliamentary Network on Diaspora Policies of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) in Istanbul, Turkey, on 10 June 2019.

Qaisi called for exerting pressure and mobilizing international efforts to enable the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) to continue its work in providing health and education services to refugees, amid attempts to drain its funding sources and pressure exerted by the US administration to cancel or reduce its role.
Discussing an important issue related to the policies of diaspora communities casts a shadow on our societies. Everyone has suffered from recent refugee crises, but in the Middle East, and Jordan in particular, we are alongside Lebanon and Turkey the most affected nations by the Syrian refugee crisis, the MP told the gathering.

Qaisi expressed pride that Jordan has provided an advanced model in dealing with the Syrian refugees.

Despite Jordan's limited resources and difficult economic conditions, he said the Kingdom has received about 1.3 million Syrian refugees and integrated them into local communities, and receive the same services as citizens in health, education and employment sectors.

Earlier, Jordan had another advanced model in this regard, as Palestinians on its soil enjoy all the civil and political rights, and all live in a state of national unity, he pointed out.

Qaisi called on the parliamentarians participating in the forum to press their governments to help the host countries to continue to provide the services the refugees need.
