King of Bahrain meets Army chief

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - King of Bahrain, Hamad bin Isa al-Khalifa, received here on Monday Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Maj. Gen. Mahmoud Abdel Halim Freihat and the accompanying delegation.

During the meeting, the Bahraini monarch lauded the distinguished historic ties between the two kingdoms, and stressed the common keenness to develop them at all levels, especially in the field of military cooperation and coordination.

King Hamad hailed Jordan's role, under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II, to support Arab and Islamic causes, as well as its contribution to Mideast security and stability and support to promoting peace in the region.

In turn, the Army chief conveyed greetings of His Majesty King Abdullah II to his King Hamad and his wishes to the Bahraini people for further progress and prosperity.

Lit. Gen. Freihat also expressed hope the Joint Committee deliberations, slated to be held in Manama, will be successful, in a bid to enhance mutual cooperation and coordination in the military fields, and lauded the committee's efforts to boost bilateral ties.

Lit. Gen. Freihat also voiced his appreciation to the King of Bahrain for his keenness to develop the close bilateral ties, which are witnessing further development and continuous cooperation.

Lit. Gen. Freihat also met with Khalifa bin Ahmed al- Khalifa, Commander-in-Chief of Bahrain Defense Force and Lit. Gen. Dhiab Bin Saqr Al Nuaimi, Chairman of Bahrain Joint Chiefs of Staff.

The two sides signed the 15th Military Cooperation Agreement.
