King chairs National Policies Council meeting

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - His Majesty King Abdullah II on Wednesday, chaired a National Policies Council (NPC) meeting that focused on the current regional developments as well as the municipal and governorate council elections that were held yesterday

During the meeting, which was held at the National Centre for Security and Crisis Management in the presence of HRH Prince Feisal Bin Al Hussein, adviser to His Majesty and NPC chairman and other top civil and military officials, the King said the elections are an important and a new step in the Kingdom's comprehensive reform process.

The King also voiced appreciation of efforts that have been exerted by the Independent Election Commission to manage the election process in a competent and efficient manner.

His Majesty also praised the level of coordination and cooperation among all concerned departments and security agencies during the election process that helped in ensuring its success.

The meeting also dealt with developments in Iraq and Syria, mainly with regard to the ceasefire in southern Syria.
