FM meets representatives of UN agencies in Jordan

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Minister of Foreign and Expatriates Affairs Ayman Safadi stressed the strong partnership between Jordan and UN organizations operating in the Kingdom as well as Jordan's keenness to boost it in various fields.

During a meeting with representatives of UN agencies and offices in Jordan on Wednesday, Safadi called for enhancing cooperation and coordination with the UN with the aim of responding to the Syrian crisis and addressing its impact on Jordan.

The meeting also dealt with activities and projects of the UN on empowering the youth, achieving sustainable development and fighting extremism.

Safadi voiced Jordan's appreciation of the development and humanitarian aid provided by the UN, highlighting the importance of the humanitarian role played by Jordan towards the Syrian refugees.

He urged the international community to shoulder its responsibility in this regard and provide support to Jordan and host communities of the refugees.

The UN Resident and Humanitarian Coordinator in Jordan, Anders Pedersen praised efforts of the Jordanian government
in hosting the Syrian refugees and facilitating work of UN agencies in the Kingdom.
