Senate condemns deadly Egypt church bombings

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - The Senate on Monday condemned as "ugly terrorist act" bombing attacks on two churches in Egypt that killed and injured dozens of innocent civilians.

In a statement released today, the Senate said the goals of terrorist groups to sow strife and destabilize Egypt will not be realized, adding that the leadership and people of Egypt are aware of the dark ideologies which target Arab and Islamic civilization and peaceful coexistence over the years.

Two suicide bomber attacked on Sunday the Coptic church of St. George in Egypt’s Nile Delta, and St. Mark's church in Alexandria, killing at least t least 44 people and injuring more than 100.
